History

The Macarthur Veterinary Hospital and Bradbury Veterinary Clinic were purchased in 1992 by Drs Jacob and Margaret Michelsen. Macarthur was only a small cottage at the time with one small waiting room. Bradbury was a converted house in Waminda Avenue, Campbelltown. Dr Cathy Irwin joined Jacob and Margaret at Bradbury in 1995, becoming a partner in 1999. Extensive renovations were undertaken at Macarthur Vet Clinic while the Bradbury clinic was relocated to new purpose-built premises in Jacaranda Avenue in 2000.

In 2000 Drs Steve and Kirsty Ferguson joined the practice and Mt. Annan Veterinary Hospital was opened in 2002.

In 2004 Macarthur Veterinary Group was the recipient of the Australian Veterinary Association’s prestigious “Practice of Excellence Award” in recognition of our outstanding service to our clients.

Following the retirement of Jacob and Margaret Michelsen from the practice in 2006 the management team reached its current makeup, with the appointment of Drs Natalie Pyle and Peter Harris in 2008. In an endeavour to better service the people and pets of the Macarthur region the decision was taken to amalgamate all clinics under one banner, the “Macarthur Veterinary Group”.

In 2010 new branding was developed for the amalgamated group, to make us more easily recognisable to clients and to reassure clients that they can expect to receive consistent high standard of service from any of our clinics, right across the Macarthur region.

In 2014 our Bradbury team were the proud recipients of the prestigious Campbelltown Business of the Year Award.

Our newest and biggest clinic yet opened in Gregory Hills in early 2015, providing luxury cat boarding and puppy preschool in addition to the first class veterinary services our clients have come to expect from our Bradbury, Camden and Mt. Annan clinics.
